Working place

I started to earn some money with this environment:

15" CRT + protection screen, Celeron-600, Audio amplifier

Upgraded tower case. It was worse before.

Chicony keyboard and some paper work.

The place was a real mess.

Next one had better environment but still the same hardware:

Speakers are on the wall now. Nice desk. External dial-up modem.

Then  I got an LCD monitor from my employer:

Looks more fancy. Dell, 1280x1024. That was wow! after 15" CRT.

Look ma! No eyeache anymore!

Returned to previous place but now managed to cleanup the mess.

Temporary sh*t speakers while amplifier on repairs. Big room.

Even bough black keyboard. Now it's something.

Yep. I had Linux desktop.

And new place again. Same hardware.

Hi-tech conner in the one-room flat.

Cosy development conner

Then I moved to the boxroom. I call that time “Work in a shell”.

1.5 square meter. The sound was gorgeous.

I was developing unknown Facebook competitor here.

Entering the shell. Enough place for one person only.

Knock-knock Neo...

Then I moved back from boxroom to the main room and moved furniture around a bit.

Development conner again. New speakers. One of the best I ever heard. Defender A-50.

Logitech keyboard. Gift from friends.

Working hard. No sleep. Fedora Core 3 installation DVD to the left hand.

Another manual is printed and ready to read.

Then I moved wardrobe so I got kind of a micro-room-office. Also, set up dual-head on linux with dual-keyboard and dual-mouse. So me and girlfriend could work together lots of money saved.

Dual-head configuration. Tiny office and me working hard.

Then I got my first job in the office.

First working place in the first office. One table. 3 PC.

Time passed and the office changed a lot. Same room.

I bough a laptop and got second monitor. That was a boost.

Had to return second monitor but got aquarium for exchange. Very nice environment.

Staying later at work was giving more beauty now.

Then I changed job. Was working in an office. 20 square meters, 10 people on 5 desks. Yes – 2 guys per desk.

Same laptop for last 4 years. Had second monitor for a while.

Then I got remote job and started to work from home. Had development conner again, but in a bigger room then before.

Setting up mom's small laptop. Enough space on the desk.

Pimped desktop. 23" second monitor 2048x1156. Huge productivity boost.

The I moved to new place and started to work on the balcony. Fresh air but not too much space.

Same laptop (for last 5 years). 23". Balcony. Too hot in summer.

Then I moved to the living room. Actually changed it to office. Now this looks like some big boys working places. Except really old and slow hardware – Pentium-4 1.8 2Gb RAM. (in 2010).

Enough space and air. No carpets. Big TV for future video games playing.

Working desktop. Looks great. All I need is better CPU and more RAM.

This is what I had in August 2010. Was going to get a PC so laptop and PC will be running together using synergy. Next step is one more monitor and maybe getting rid of laptop. Wanted small netbook to take it away if necessary. And a PS3 to have a break and play a game from time to time. Stand\sit table and aeron chair were just in dreams.

The new flat again but with dedicated cabinet now. Yeah, home office finally!

4 Cores, 4Gig RAM, dual monitor setup. Own relatively quiet place.

Going to stay here till the next autumn, maybe will get one more monitor and do some PC upgrade – graphics card is soooo slow even in KDE without effects (ATI HD3300).

And finally something really suitable:

AMD 6 Cores 3.2Hgz, 12 Gigs RAM, SSD + HDD, ATI HD5770 1Gb + ATI HD3300 for third monitor, sexy mouse and kbd, sennheiser and air conditioner. The only one thing left is Aeron chair.
